Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa has thanked residents of the state after he was re-elected for a sixth term.

Recall that the governorship and assembly elections held over the weekend.

“The victory recorded by the APC in Lagos State is proof of the trust and confidence our people have in us,” he said on Monday after winning a sixth term.

The Speaker, in a statement by spokesperson Eromosele Ebhomele, thanked the electorate for returning him to represent Agege Constituency 1.

The Speaker also thanked them for electing Jubril Abdulkarim, a former local government council chairman, to represent Agege Constituency 2 at the 10th House.

Obasa said residents displayed love for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the period leading to the election and while the exercise lasted.

The triumph is proof that the people believe the party would deliver more dividends of democracy in the next four years, the lawmaker added.

With the poll concluded, Obasa urged all stakeholders to come together to work in unity and achieve greater positive results for Lagos State.

He promised that the House of Assembly would continue with laws, motions and resolutions to meet the needs of “our constantly changing society”.
